We're members of a number of organisations and groups two of which - the National Trust and the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust have venues right on our doorstep. We're regular visitors to the WWT centre at Martin Mere but literally just a couple of miles away is the charming Rufford Old Hall run by the National Trust. So, one sunny Saturday we packed the cameras and a picnic and did a double visit. Maybe not two for the price of one but a great way to get your monies worth!
Living near to and working in a place, especially a city, can sometimes mean you don't notice things or take stuff for granted. So we thought we'd do something differently in April and went to Manchester to do a few things we don't normally do. we went into the cathedral, Chethams Library and John Rylands. Then, following a night at the theatre watching the superb "Bat out of Hell" a stay over at the superb Radisson (on the site of the old Free Trade Hall) we spent a morning at the Whitworth and the great Andy Warhol exhibition. A real blast of culture, history and modern activity all wrapped up in a unique bundle.
Following our trip out a few weeks ago to a spectacularly sunny Southport (home of that Starling picture!) we went a few miles further up the coast and paid a long overdue visit to Blackpool. Ahh Blackpool - what a place, the scene of many a great day out (and some nights too) and home to a lot of memories. As ever we were primed and had some ideas in mind and Blackpool didn't disappoint. I can feel a return trip coming on very soon.
A lot of what we are about involves taking photos and creating images. So as well as the images on the various blogs we do we've now got this dedicated page for galleries and for photos we just like - which we call "Today's Photos". Always something different and sometimes maybe a bit random but we hope you like them.
